Richard A. "Dick" Mohs

Richard A. “Dick” Mohs, 60, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013, after a long illness at his home in Fayette.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, at the Fayette Community Church with Pastor Andrew Sayer officiating.  Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Fayette. Friends may call from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Fayette and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Fayette Ambulance Service.  

Richard Allen Mohs, son of Harold and Eileen Kruse Mohs, was born January 20, 1952, at Postville, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Postville, and graduated from Postville High School in 1971. On June 28, 1991, he was united in marriage with Diane Hemesath at the Ossian Lutheran Church. Dick worked at Dura Automotive prior to retiring. He enjoyed fishing, target shooting, woodworking, having coffee at Boike’s, and camping.

In addition to his wife, Diane of Fayette, he is survived by one son, John Tieskoetter of Boone; two brothers, David (Scott Werntz) Mohs of Long Grove, Illinois and Dale (Deb) Mohs of St. Olaf; two sisters, Mary (Greg) Braun of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri and Nancy (Bob) Radloff of Postville; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Jerry Cerny of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis in infancy.
